Latest Updates from Our Project:

NOW AVAILABLE IN HARDBACK...!
almost 4 years ago – Fri, Jun 12, 2020 at 06:58:18 AM

Great News!

We are now delighted to announce you can pledge to receive Reanimator Incorporated in Hardback.

I've kept the rewards simple, so you have three options...

There are three new reward tiers: THE HARDBACK REWARD, THE DELUXE HARDBACK REWARD, and THE PERSONALISED HARDBACK REWARD.

If you have pledged or would like to pledge for a higher reward tier, then either:

  • Increase your pledge by £6 to upgrade your softcover copy to a hardcover copy

or

  • Increase your pledge by £16 to receive a hardcover copy in addition to your softcover copy

A note on shipping

To keep things as simple as possible, I have retained the same shipping costs for both softcover and hardcover and we will absorb the difference. This makes it easier when considering upgrades in the later tiers.

The shipping costs are in line with postage and packing to international locations and this is priced at cost with no profit to us. Being honest, the support we've received has taken me away and I didn't anticipate such high volumes of international fulfilment, hence the simple UK vs Rest of the World model.

I contacted Kickstarter Support to check my options for new shipping tiers and it can't be changed without creating lots of complexity.

LESSONS HAVE BEEN LEARNED however and we'll have much improved shipping options when we release Chapter Two. Thank you to everyone who's asked about this and provided their feedback.

Thank you again!

We will be back tomorrow with more news on the next stretch goal rewards and with some more reviews.

Stretch Goal #4
almost 4 years ago – Fri, Jun 12, 2020 at 06:58:05 AM

Wow! There's been such great interest in the hardbacks, we're going to reward you with a stretch goal at £8,500.

Check out this cool art from good friend, Ryan Kroboth. Ryan's been a constant supporter of our work, not just in terms of pledges but also support, advice and encouragement. He's run some awesome Kickstarters himself, so please give him a follow.

Backers of the deluxe hardback and softcover rewards and up will recieve an A5 print of Ryan's art.

Thanks for reading, and stay safe!

Artwork process & bonus stretch goal
almost 4 years ago – Fri, Jun 12, 2020 at 06:56:13 AM

Hey everyone,

I hope you are all doing okay and as always, thanks for all the continued support.

To do something a little different, I figured I'd share some of the artwork process behind the cover so you can see what goes into each page, or in this case the cover.

I work part traditionally, part digitally. Drawing the pencils by hand (usually A3) which acts as the frame work for the illustration, followed by ink wash to work in some base tones and textures. From there I scan the artwork in and colour the piece digitally. I'm actually partly colour blind and used to do the colours by hand, however, as my artwork become more complex and I wanted to be able to incorporate a wider range of colours. This meant switching up my work process as I now use a Cintiq (Wacom, drawing tablet).

Even though I colour digitally, I've kept my traditional drawing techniques so it still has that traditional media feel. Giving me the benefit of being able to tackle more complex colour pallets and also giving me the flexibility of making changes. If we wanted to tweak the colours, its always much easier to edit the colours digitally, apposed to trying to edit a physical painting.

If this interests you, this is the kind of thing that we will be adding to the book if we hit that next stretch goal (£12,500), along with other work in process material and concept art.

Thanks Lyndon.

Bonus Stretch Goal

We're ticking closer to 500 backers and thought it'd be cool to offer a special stretch goal if we hit the magic number.

So, if we hit 500 backers, we'll include some additional digital content for all pledges:

  • Wallpaper for your mobile and desktop based on the Reanimator cover art
  • MP3 of the music from the Kickstarter video by Jack Jennings of You Win Again Gravity (seriously - check them out)
  • PDF of the Chapter One script

A cool recommendation

It's always dangerous for my credit card when I browse Kickstarter. I recently came upon The Jump and saw some parallels to the ideas within Reanimator Incorporated. Please check it out and see what you think - https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/rylendgrant/the-jump-1-from-screenwriter-ringo-award-winner-rylend-grant

The Jump is a smart, high-concept sci-fi thriller full of meaty twists and turns. It is Inception meets The Bourne Identity… if it were dripping with macabre and directed by David Fincher.

Rylend, the creator, is the Ringo-award winning writer of comic books like BANJAX and ABERRANT. He's worked for 15+ years in Hollywood, developing film and television projects - mostly big, poppy action movies - with folks like JJ Abrams, Ridley Scott, John Woo, Luc Beson, and Justin Lin.

Three updates in a day??
almost 4 years ago – Mon, Jun 08, 2020 at 02:30:55 AM

It's been a crazy and exciting day and I promise to leave your inboxes alone (at least until tomorrow), but we just hit stretch goal #4 which means backers of the Deluxe Softcover and Hardback rewards and up will receive an A5 print of Ryan Kroboth's take on Reanimator Incorporated.

We've just set stretch goal #5 and would like to present another piece by Chris Holmes which we'll print in A5 and include in the Deluxe reward tiers and up if we hit £10,000.

Spoiler alert: Chris will be Kickstarter-ing this artwork as an A2 poster later in the year. It's still Work in Progress right now, but I hope you can agree it's looking cool already.

Facebook Live

Another reminder Lyndon and I will be on Facebook Live tomorrow (Sat 30th) at 5pm BST - https://www.facebook.com/AMPerryWriting/posts/556680371658314 - If there're any questions you'd like to ask or be featured in the Q&A, please drop me a message.

We'll also be making the prize draw for an A2 poster of Lyndon's cover art. There's still time to register on the mailing list to be in with a chance of winning: https://reanimator.quaktioncomics.com/preview

Have a great and relaxing evening everyone and stay safe...!

New stretch goals and an amazing review!
almost 4 years ago – Mon, Jun 08, 2020 at 02:30:36 AM

"The story also features several subplots, and character developments that make it a unique comic akin to a Hollywood movie or a TV series with a powerful way of storytelling similar to DC and Marvel comics. It stays true to the original Lovecraftian story but everything feels fresh and modern."

Reading this review from Everything Horror Podcast really made my day. You can read the whole (spoiler free) article here: https://ehpodcasts.com/2020/06/03/spoiler-free-comic-review-reanimator-incorporated-a-lovecraft-inspired-graphic-novel-on-kickstarter-till-june-17th-2020/

Stretch Goal #6

Lyndon and I have been working on future stretch goals and we're happy to announce we'll include eight extra pages of content in the physical hardback and softcover versions if we hit £12,500. This will allow us to share with you some of the original concept art and line drawings, and some of the original script ideas.

Thank you for your continued interest and enthusiasm on this project.

Stay safe and well...!

Andy
